Our Codsall Nursery
Sandhills Day Nurseries are all about helping to give children the best start in life and here at Codsall we provide a safe, clean and happy environment for children aged from birth to five years.
The Nursery is situated on the main A41 Holyhead Road, it has a large secure on site car park and access to Nursery can only be gained through 1 door which is situated at the front of the building. Nursery provides 6 rooms (2 baby rooms, 2 toddler rooms and 2 pre-school rooms) in addition to these rooms children also have access to 2 outdoor areas.
In addition to Early Years Foundation Stage, some parts of Reggio Emilia have been implemented to encourage children to explore and develop in their own way! We believe that this approach will ensure that children at our nursery have enough opportunities to develop their potential. We value each child as strong, capable and resilient; this allows our Nursery to adapt this philosophy to create the best environment for the children to learn and develop in.
The Reggio Emilia philosophy states that there are a hundred different ways that children use to think, discover and learn new things on a day to day basis. Sandhills, Codsall aims to allow children to use their different ways of learning to make sure that each child has the chance to learn something new and develop their potential in a way that they find interesting.
Our staff observe our children and listen to their questions and stories to find out what interests each child. This information is then used by our practitioners as part of In The Moment Planning to provide children with opportunities to explore their interests further which makes learning more enjoyable for children. Children's interests and needs shape and change the environment around them - as practitioners implement and follow up children's interests.
The surroundings at Codsall are an excellent feature of the nursery as there is a large outdoor play area and an amazing outdoor classroom which gives children an excellent learning environment where the sky really is the limit.
All meals are produced by our cook on site and our menus are reviewed regularly to ensure that we provide a healthy and balanced diet. We provide the children with breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. The children also have access to water all day, milk with mid-morning snack and fruit juice is offered at afternoon snack.
At Sandhills, Codsall we have the highest security with fob entry for staff, CCTV in all of our rooms and outdoors including the car park and access is only made via the front door which can only be opened by staff; parents cannot let themselves in or out of the Nursery.
To fully appreciate what is on offer at Codsall, why not book a show around where staff will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Such an outstanding nurseryOur grateful thanks to you and your wonderful team for helping Millie and her Nanny and Grandad through recent sad events. Coming into Nursery we always felt we were enveloped by such care and compassion from everyone we met. Millie has been so lucky to attend such an outstanding nursery and we are sure it has prepared her well for ‘Big School!’ Tom and I will miss our chats but all of you will remain in our hearts and memories.
Fantastic care and attention of the staffThe one thing that we have ALWAYS loved about Nursery is the fantastic care and attention of the staff – we have felt like every single person knows, cares and has Seb’s very best interest at heart – you all somehow make us feel like he is as important to you as he is to us. He is well prepared for school (more so than us) and we are so unbelievably grateful to you all. A very heartfelt thank you.
Sandhills is child centered and that is the most important thing. As my daughter Lily is now 10 and I have Joshua at nursery. I have seen your early days and how it is today. There was no choice to make when choosing a nursery for Joshua, although it was 8 years on. Sandhills is child centered and that is the most important thing. I always recommend if anyone asks. Thank you all.
You’ve made such a differenceThank you…. For holding my hand, for wiping my noise, for picking me up when I trip on my toes. For teaching me things like how, what and why, for holding me tight when I just have to cry, for playing with me and guiding me too, for all of those things, I’m grateful to you. A teacher is known for the lives that they touch, you’ve made such a difference so thank you SO MUCH!
You all do such an amazing jobThank you so much for doing such an amazing job looking after Riley! I have seen him become so confident and sociable since coming to Nursery and everyday I’m shocked at there’s something new he has learnt. You all do such an amazing job and we will miss Riley having so much fun at Nursery. Thank You!
Thank you for your patience and kindnessThank you for your patience and kindness when settling us in when mommy returned to work and for all the messy, fun and laughter along the way whilst watching us grow (nothing has been too much trouble). Thank you for remembering our ‘best bits’ and telling Mommy. We will miss you. Hugs and cuddles.
