Our Boston Nursery
Sandhills Day Nurseries are dedicated to ensuring children receive the ‘best start in life’ and here at Boston, we support this by providing a homely, relaxed yet stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to play, explore, create and learn all whilst having lots of fun!!
The purpose-built nursery is conveniently located in central Boston, a busy market town, near to the bus and train stations and also close to road links. The nursery’s pre-school unit is situated across the large, secure car park from the main building. The four play rooms provide fantastic experiences for all children, aged between 0-8 years.
Outdoor play is highly regarded in all weathers at the nursery. All room have their own garden to allow free-flow time where children can choose whether they access the indoor or outdoor classroom all year round. Our large adventure garden boasts a mud kitchen, Playdales trim-trail equipment, a large sandpit, tunnel, bikes and trikes and plenty of ‘loose parts’ including tyres, pipes, crates and planks. So there is always plenty for the children to be getting on with!!
The nursery is also proud to be starting a ‘Forest School’ adventure and has been working extensively to create a fantastic Forest School area in the garden.
All rooms put in place a structure that compliments the EYFS, individual plans are produced for each child, allowing children to make choices and help them progress in all areas of learning and development. Throughout the day there are times for small group activities in Key worker groups, and times for whole group activities too; ensuring a balance of adult-led and child-led activities. Staff observe the children, both spontaneously and formally, to determine their interest; identify schemas; and to assess which developmental band they are emerging, developing or secure in. Activities and environments are then created from this information to support and allow each child’s learning and development, to flourish.
Freshly, prepared meals are cooked on the premises by a qualified cook. The menu is rotated on a three-weekly cycle, ensuring a variety of healthy and balanced choices. Children have access to water all day, with milk offered at mid morning snack. At the nursery we consider meal times as a social occasion and where appropriate children are encouraged to self serve, promoting their independent skills, to say please and thank you and to use cutlery independently as they sit around tables together.
Our highly qualified staff team prides itself on the communication they provide with parents. Thorough verbal handovers are given at the end of the day, as well as formal parent’s evenings held twice a year. During these times the staff are able to inform parents about their child’s learning and development by sharing thoughts, ideas and support, as they share their child’s electronic learning journey with them.
Parents are also kept well informed about all other aspects of the nursery through noticeboards, letters, email and monthly newsletters.
Hardworking and dedicated staffAmazing nursery! Hardworking and dedicated staff who provide a caring, welcoming and rich learning environment. My children didn't settle in their previous nursery, however they get excited about going and seeing their amazing key-workers!
Lovely family atmosphereTwo of my children attended Sandhills nursery and at both times I cannot thank the staff enough for the things they did for my children. Very dedicated staff, always with a smile on the face, lovely family atmosphere. :)
Would definitely recommend SandhillsMy little girl started Sandhills last year there were a few weeks of her crying and being unsettled which made me sad, but the ladies there are all amazing and soon settled her they are all so kind and my child absolutely loves them all, they also help with the potty training etc can't praise them enough. Would definitely recommend Sandhills to other parents wanting somewhere safe and caring to send their children.
An excellent nurseryReally excellent nursery, with very professional staff. I was apprehensive as I have had a bad experience sending my 2 year old to a different nursery before, but I really shouldn't have been. Staff are all very warm and friendly and excellent with the children. My son comes home with things he has made whilst beening there, which is great because they do a lot of messy, crafty things (saves my house getting so messy) :-) Also there is a fabulous garden area with sandpit and lots of other things for the children to do and explore. They keep you updated on what your child has been up to and if they have any concerns etc. Excellent staff and venue, resulting in an excellent nursery.
Wouldn't of chose any other nurserySandhills nursery is a fantastic nursery and my daughter has grown so much confidence since she's been going since sept 2015. My daughter has grown the confidence to talk a lot more, she interacts with kids a lot more and is learning more and more each time she's there. Wouldn't of chose any other nursery. Definitely recommend this nursery.
Welcoming atmosphereFriendly staff and welcoming atmosphere within whole nursery, both of my children go to this nursery and I have never had a problem with anything there. They always have great parent partnership and always care for the children in the best way they can.
Her speech is developing really wellSandhills is great with my daughter. They settled her in beautifully and always keep her occupied. And she loves the dinners they make, she never comes home hungry and she's made plenty of friends. Her speech is developing really well since she has been there.
Overall great nursery! My daughter has been attending Sandhills day nursery since April 2015 she is going to be 3 this month I would fully recommend Sandhills. It took around 6 months for her to fully settle and get used to it all but now really enjoys going and coming home to tell us about what she's been doing. They have a great, thought out menu which all meals are provided. Lovely ladies that are very helpful and supportive with parents and child's needs. Overall great nursery!
